Ever-changing always amazing -Dublin is a city that is renowned for constantly updating itself. We mix the old with the new and come up with the most charming of results, ultra modern high-tech comforts mixed with ancient architecture and quaint traditions is the world-recognised Irish recipe for charm. Some places however, are just meant to be left alone!

We start our tour in a private room in the Church bar, one of Dublin’s most popular 21st century pubs to hear about the history of the bar which, as St Mary’s Church was the second oldest Church on the North side of the Liffey. Many famous names have passed through the Church over its almost 300 year old history, but since the eighties it has been a bar. Some say It’s sacrilegious, others says it’s fun, the great thing is, everybody’s right! It’s also a perfect example of Dublin’s incredible ability to keep adapting itself to the ever changing demands of society.

Next we find ourselves in the most unlikely of graveyards, very few people know St Mary’s graveyard is still a feature of Dublin’s inner city landscape today. The tombstones have all been moved, the grave slabs have all been moved, in fact the only thing that hasn’t been moved are the bodies! They are all still down there. So be careful who you step on as we pass through this now-deconsecrated graveyard, which doubles as a city park! What were we saying about Dublin constantly updating itself?

Next we board the Hellfire Express to the lonely peak in the Dublin Mountains where the infamous 18th century Hellfire Club stands today. On the way down to the Club we’ll be hearing some of the traditional ghostly legends that the ancient City of Dublin has to offer, as well as seeing some further-a-field ghostly sites such as Rathfarnham Castle and Kilakee House, We then disembark the bus at the Hellfire Club to hear about the almost unmentionable things that happened here 300 years ago when a group of young Dublin men decided to play around with Satanism. Up at the lonely shell of the burnt-out hunting lodge we’ll hear the stories of what happened up here all those years ago and chronicle the Hellfire Club’s descent into the abyss. Back to Dublin, in the warm coach we arrive back at The Church where you’ll get the chance to tuck into some finger food and a complementary scultheen – the favoured drink of the Irish Hellfire Club! - Served for ONE NIGHT ONLY! - all included in the price of your ticket

5PM meet at Church Bar - downstairs in private function room 5:15 – Jervis Street and Graveyard Surrounding area tour 5.45 - Board our private Hellfire Express to hear some of the haunted legends that abound further afield than Dublin City Centre at such famous landmarks as St Patrick's Cathedral, Rathfarnham Castle and Kilakee House as we wend our way along the path towards the lonely dark Dublin Mountains range. 6.15 - Arrive at Hellfire Club – we disembark the bus and walk up to one of Ireland’s most lonely and infamous places. The burnt out shell of this haunted hunting lodge dating from 1725 is known for its association with Satanism, the supernatural and the occult. Be warned! Although this desolate place is miles from civilisation it has witnessed activities that should not be seen by anyone on this earthly plain. It is not unusual for visitors to experience head and chest tightness as their subconscious picks up on the horrors that this lonely hill has witnessed, it is not a place for the faint hearted! Our storyteller will recount the history of this place, including the destruction of the ancient megalithic monuments, the exhumation of the demonic statue and dwarf skeleton to the evil rituals and events that took place here such as the black masses, human and animal sacrifices, and the infamous card game with the “cloven-hoofed visitor.” 8pm - back at The Church for complementary fingerfood, a scultheen and music CLICK HERE TO BOOK NOW
