Halloween Dublin

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

Building on this rich local tradition and in a spirit of fun, we’re offering our first ever Halloween Dublin Ghost Story Contest – in association with South Dublin County Tourism and Newsgroup Newspapers.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, please send us your best DUBLIN GHOST STORY (minimum 200 words) to halloween@hiddendublinwalks.com. The piece can be an experience you or a friend has had, a general creepy Halloween story, or preferably, a piece of local folklore that’s been passed down from generation to generation.

Closing date for entries is the 26th October (please note that all submissions must be made by email), and the winners will be contacted by email. Prizes for the best story are as follows:

1st Place – 2 tickets for the Hidden Dublin Hellfire Excursion on Halloween Night

2nd – 6th Place – 5 tickets up for grabs for either the Northside Ghost Walk or Haunted History Tour for a date of your choice

RULES FOR ENTRY:

- Our judges will pick out the stories they feel are best (based on scariness, originality, entertainment value, and local folklore)

- Stories must be completely unique and written by you.

- Although the organisers reserve the rights to use and potentially reprint all entries received (giving proper credit on each printing, of course), we aren’t claiming them as our own property – that means that you retain the copyrights to your work and are free to reprint it and/or publish it elsewhere, too, without getting any further permission from us.
