This not only adds to the thrill of this cycle, but is a highlight of the tour that makes it suitable for ALL ages, daredevils, shapes and sizes, whatever bike and level of power you choose.
It’s a half day tour where we venture into & around the Wicklow mountains. We also take a pit stop at the beautiful Glencree visitor centre for a quick bite , refreshment, and / or walk around - you decide.
Set at the head of Wicklow’s spectacular and unspoiled Glencree Valley, on the edge of the Wicklow National Park and on the Wicklow Way, this former 19th Century British Army Barracks brings you a range of
attractive facilities in a tranquil and beautiful setting. Glencree possesses an atmosphere all of it’s own - beautiful countryside, historic buildings, local arts and crafts, and a taste of fine
Irish home cooking when you drop into the Armoury Cafe.
The Cafe & Gift Shop sell local produce and crafts. The opening times are 9.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 5.30pm Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays.
A visit to Glencree would not be complete without a visit to the Lourdes Grotto and the German War Cemetery where 135 German military servicemen and civilians are buried.
Six were prisoners of war who died while interned in Ireland during the First World War. Others were victims of air and naval disasters of the Second World War.
If you’re looking for the perfect balance of beauty, thrills and adventure then this is the tour for you.
